 The Triple Bottom Line
- My Personal Mission for 2007 - One the things I hope XSMatter will be is a place for collaboration and entrepreneurship(as defined in this article ). And recently I’ve been reading a lot into the concept of the triple bottom line. And this has sparked quite a reaction from my internal bodily organs – if only they had heads, they’d be nodding in absolute agreement. So what is this triple bottom line thing? It’s a holistic developmental agenda that involves businesses making decisions taking account not just economic value creation but also social and environmental value. It’s rather difficult to comprehend how a board room would sit down and decide, “Ok…I think we shouldn’t have to make this much money if we can cut back the profits by changing some processes and save some trees along the way.” It’s a radical movement. But after reading and watching some presentations, I’m convinced that this is the way to go..even if the trend is not up and running yet..we’ve got to push for it. In a few weeks, I should be able to stream some articles out regarding my thoughts on why the triple bottom line agenda is something we have to adopt and what we can do in our own little capacities to get this off the ground… So this will be my personal XSMatter cause for 2007... I'm actually trying to correct some timezone problem for my entries because they keep reflecting the wrong time! And since i'm at that, i figure i might as well tell you guys what's happening here... 1. I'm looking for interested people to write. I've approached some people who I hope have begun writing new articles in various sections and will be meeting up with an old friend whom may want to switch to become a full-time writer. I'm hoping she buys into the idea of what XSMatter is doing and will be interested enough to be part of this. 2. We've started our own Wiki In line with trying to keep up with the times and also wanting XSMatter to be something that involves the people, I've started a wiki over at WikiSpaces to explain what XSMatter is about and also what you want it to evolve into. Do contribute your thoughts. Do tell me if you think you have no idea what i'm trying to convey or if you think it's utter crap. Honesty is brutal...but it saves everyone the trouble of reading between the lines. Go there Now! 3. The template is all screwy I'm aware that the template is really screwy with the polling section and some of the sections going out of whack. I'd really love to settle them all but I haven't had much luck finding the time. Anyone wanna design a Joomla template for XSMatter? haha 4. Remember the Coffee Table Conference? Well, silence doesn't mean it's dead. XSMatter has partnered a local start-up technology communications company to work on making it reality. I'm not releasing much details on it yet except that we're dropping the name and calling it something else...What is it? You'll find out soon =) | | No comments for this item |
